Easy // 10 mins prep // per each

Beautiful, delicious & versatile.  Takes minutes to prep, and only an hour to roast in the oven to fill your house with a rich, spiced fragrance.

  • 1 large Yam
  • 1 Pear
  • 1/2 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 Tbs Brown Sugar
  • 1 Pinch Citrus Sea Salt

Wash the yam & put onto a parchment lined baking sheet into a cold oven.  Set the temp to 475 and a timer for 45 mins.  Meanwhile, dice the pear & toss w/ the flavoring ingredients.  Set it aside and let macerate while the yam roasts.

Test the yam w/ a fork or pairing knife.  When it is tender throughout, split it down the middle and add the pear mixture.  Return to the oven for 15 more mins.

Serve as a side dish with dinner, or dress it up as we did for dessert.

This is a great way to use extra large yams.  We used it to make a dessert stack w/ maple granola squares from Trader Joes & dark chocolate squares.  We also used it to flavor our ice cream in a bag.
