Easy // 5 mins // 1 Pint or More

Our Harvest Heroes love pickles & onions top the list for so many folks in our survey.  This is the easiest pickle recipe we’ve done so far.  They are ready to use immediately w/ a nice bite & crunch & get better in the fridge. 

  • 1 or 2 Medium Onions, sliced or diced
  • 1 Orange, juice & zest
  • 1 Pinch Each, Salt, Pepper, Sugar
  • (Opt) Chili Pepper, sliced or minced

Pack everything into a pint jar.  Shake well & serve.  They will mellow in the fridge over the next few days & will last for up to two weeks.  I use just a pinch of salt, pepper & sugar, but some like their pickles sweeter or more salty.  Adjust as you wish.  Shake the jar each time you serve them. 

I used our Harvest Citrus Sea Salt in my pickles for added umami.  Substitute grapefruit, lemons, limes, tangerines, etc.  You’ll want at least 1/3 cup of juice per jar to start.
