The Opportunity:

As Market Manager, you will be responsible for leading and growing Hungry Harvest in the Charlotte area. In this role, you should be comfortable working independently with a support network in both Raleigh and Baltimore. This is an exciting new opportunity to champion Hungry Harvest in Charlotte, grow your market, and join an amazing team working towards a mission. As Market Manager, you will specifically be tasked with:

  • Leading Hungry Harvest in the market by:

    • Tracking and analyzing the overall health of the Market,

    • Problem solving for issues as they arise

    • Communicating consumer preferences, values, and community ethos to the rest of the company
       

  • Growing and retaining Charlotte customers by:

    • Partnering with leading local brands & organizations

    • Building relationships with and leveraging local media

    • Managing and growing our Brand Ambassador team

    • Proactively identifying and attending local events

    • Ensure positive customer experiences with the brand
       

  • Selling specialty programs, such as Harvest Rx

  • Increasing average order in Charlotte by working with the Raleigh Market Manager and HQ team to ensure we’re selling the right items in our marketplace

  • Localizing Hungry Harvest by building community relationships, bringing community knowledge of the region to the company, and ensuring our mission is being fulfilled

  • Manage the logistics load-up process until there are sufficient deliveries to support bringing on another team member (Saturday AMs)

  • Collaborating with the HQ team to achieve success

The Goods You’re Bringing:

  •  2-5+ years experience of marketing, sales and management required
  • College degree preferred

The Opportunity:

As the General Manager of Hungry Harvest’s Jessup warehouse, you are are responsible for everyone and everything in it. In this role, you are always thinking about how to innovate and make both processes and the team better. You will be in charge of managing, optimizing, and innovating on all the activities from when produce arrives to our docks till boxes are loaded into delivery vehicles. Directly overseeing three managers, and subsequently a team of 25 associates, you and your management support team will effectively impact the overall operations of the warehouse. Specifically, you will be tasked with:

  • Optimizing operations by incorporating changes in people, processes, and technology.

  • Proactively creating and making iterations to new processes on the production line or in the warehouse.

  • Constantly be in tune and learning about what the latest trends are in GMP and assembly line practices.

  • Implementing Six Sigma and subsequently teach and support the team in that methodology.

  • Identifying and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), suggest and implement operational and strategy changes to help meet KPIs.

  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and developing a group of supervisors and functional leads. Motivates team and fosters growth.

  • Managing vendor relationships as well as forming new vendor relationships.

  • Implementing automation solutions that are scalable by introducing new technology and building automated processes that will allow the team to be more efficient with time.

  • Developing, planning timelines for, and managing execution on new initiatives.

  • Managing a budget and know how to run managerial accounting on a weekly basis.

  • Accountability for creating systems to track KPIs for production efficiency, quality, safety, and sanitation.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or another applicable field OR 5+ years of related warehouse management experience

The Opportunity:

The sorting, grading and packing of produce does require a lot of handwork and some lifting. The QC technician makes sure that all boxes are packed correctly on the line, and that items are organized well to avoid product damage. We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail to join our growing team.

  • Ensure that items are carefully packed following established packing procedures
  • Meet customer quality standards for finished product
  • Adhere to all safety and food safety policies, standards and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Good communication skills and record-keeping skills required
  • Must be able to work comfortably in a cold (40-45°F) environment
  • Must be able to work while standing
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs repetitively
  • Must be able to work collaboratively

Schedule:

  • Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM start time - approx. 8-10 hours per day on average

  • Optional hours may be picked up on Mondays

The Opportunity:

As the Operations and Logistics Manager, you are the mastermind behind procurement, inventory, materials management, assembly, product, and logistics for the Philadelphia market. In this role, you are responsible for the seamless operations of getting produce to our customers; from managing the supply of produce to the delivery of quality Hungry Harvest boxes. You will accurately forecast and ensure that there are appropriate levels of packaging, equipment, and produce in order run a successful operation. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the local vendor relationships through consistent communication

  • Maintaining in-depth product knowledge

  • Diagnose and systematically reduce customer errors through thorough quality checks

  • Ensuring order accuracy by effectively managing shrink and forecasting inventory levels, including add-on items

  • Overseeing levels of packaging materials while working to lower cost of supplies

  • Managing and fostering the relationship with Hungry Harvest’s co-packer

The Opportunity:

As the Production Manager of Hungry Harvest, you are the eyes and ears of the warehouse and constantly strive to ensure seamless operations. In this role, you are responsible for the processes and procedures that go into a completed Hungry Harvest box exceeding customer expectations. You will be managing and innovating on all actions that go into the assembly of a finished box through the relationships you form and maintain with the warehouse team, managers, vendors, and other departments. Directly overseeing and inspiring a team of 25, you are the go-to person for employee support and seamless operations.

  •  Create and maintain reporting mechanisms for efficiency and quality
  • Accurately forecast and ensure there are appropriate levels of staffing, packaging, equipment, and produce in order run a successful operation.

  • Diagnose and systematically reduce errors through the creation of a new, efficient sorting and packing process.

  • Manage a team of line leads, supervisors, hourly associates and temporary staff through day to day supervision, weekly meetings with assembly crew, performance appraisals, and resolution of employee issues.

  • Interview, hire, train, and develop a group of supervisors and functional leads.

  • Recognize and fix gaps in processes before they lead to increases in cost or quality concerns

  • Document SOP’s for all processes that happen within production and create a training manual. Create a process that trains new employees for a role within 30 minutes.

  • Manage vendor relationships to include temporary staffing agencies and repackaging equipment manufacturers.

  • Contribute to, plan timelines for, and execute on new initiatives

  • Function as the connector that brings every facet of the operation together by working closely with relevant people and departments.

Marketing Community Manager

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Community Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with the public through our social channels. From interested fans to influential followers, this position will work to inspire and corral them all. The community manager should be a motivated individual with a passion for social media, deep love of food, and the influencer landscape. This person will be challenged with creating forward-thinking approaches to influencer marketing, including press or relevant innovative third-party partnerships to cultivate awareness, reach, credibility, affinity, loyalty, and community. This role will act as a brand steward in evaluating and strategically selecting partners as well as a conduit for industry knowledge.

The Role: 

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

  • Work alongside the creative team to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience while supporting marketing goals

  • Implement, manage and optimize social efforts that grow, engage, retain and help convert followers into leads, customers, and active promoters

  • Run regular social promotions, sweepstakes, giveaways and campaigns under both legal and marketing goal guidelines

  • Continually optimize social strategies and tactics to generate new ideas to spur growth, lead generation, awareness and engagement

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for inbound requests from social media and engage with the community within very specific response times

  • Listen, respond, ask questions and engage audiences to cultivate organic engagement

  • Execute and manage social advertising efforts based on strategic, creative and budgetary guidelines

INSIGHT GATHERING

  • Work within the marketing team to develop strategic communication plans

PRESS COORDINATION

  • Coordinate press inquiries to assess, direct and schedule with the optimal internal contact in a quick and timely manner

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Assist marketing team in the inventorying, distribution and management of giveaway and prize materials

  • In support of the creative and design team, implement a reordering process to match needs with appropriate budget and timing

AWARD MANAGEMENT

  • Uncover most suitable trade, national and local company awards

The Goods You're Bringing: 

  • 1 – 3 years of social media experience

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields prefered

Add On Category Manager

We’re on a mission to fight food waste, and we’re just getting started! From short-coded Organic Valley cheese to mislabeled artisanal chocolate, the opportunities to rescue fresh and delicious grocery items from going to waste are endless. We’re looking to bring someone on to build out our Add On product offerings, using customer insights and strategic brand partnerships. The Add On Category Manager will take ownership of our Add On product offerings and profitability for all of Hungry Harvest to enhance the customer experience.

  • Act as the ‘business owner’ for the Add On category

As Detroit Market Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the rescued produce and hunger fighting movement that has already taken off in Baltimore, DC, Virginia, Philadelphia, Raleigh and Miami and will be responsible for the following:

  • Growing the number of subscribers in the Detroit region
  • Managing & developing a team of 2-3 others
  • Partnering with leading local brands & organizations
  • Building contacts with and leveraging local Media
  • Managing and growing our brand ambassador program
  • Tracking and analyzing the overall health of the Market
  • Making strategic decisions for Hungry Harvest in the Market

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years experience of marketing, sales and management
  • Strong selling skills
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Learner’s mindset with a bias towards action

Preferred:

  • Experience in the food delivery space
  • Experience in the produce industry
  • Knowledge and experience in Detroit

Produce Packers PT/FT

Job Description
On our assembly line, we pack fresh fruits and vegetables into variety boxes. The sorting, grading and packing of produce does require a lot of handwork and some lifting.

Responsibilities
Efficiently sort and pack product following established packing procedures.
Meet customer required quality standards for finished product.
Adhere to all work safety and food safety policies, standards and procedures.

Rotating Work Schedule & Pay
Wednesday - Sunday, Part Time: 20-30hrs per week , Full Time: 40 hrs per week
Hourly pay rate is $10 per hour.

Required Skills
Must be able to work comfortably in a cool environment
Must be able to work while standing.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs repetitively.
Must be able to work collaboratively.
Must be reliable and have acceptable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous packing or manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.

Forklift Operator

Job Requirements
• Picking raw materials for the next day’s production
• Rotating stock (First-in, First-out) in the coolers
• Keeping pallets organized, and re-stacking cases as necessary for safety & logistics
• Conform to all safety protocols when driving and operating warehouse equipment
• Keep forklift in good condition by following manufacturer’s maintenance schedule
• Use care when manually lifting heavy items
• Report to Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager for special assignments for the day
• Notify management of any issues with incoming materials while unloading trailers
• Keep warehouse neat and clean, including sweeping and organizing inventory to maximize space
• Follow all company GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Packing customer orders on the production line as needed
• Perform other duties in the production area as requested by management

Education/Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years forklift experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work independently and assist in other departments 

Hours
30-40 hours per week, Wednesday-Sunday

Compensation
$12-16 per hour, depending on previous experience
