Sales Associate

Hungry Harvest is a produce delivery company disrupting the to-your-door grocery delivery industry by connecting surplus and cosmetically imperfect produce with people who wish to eat healthy, affordably. 

We’re a rapidly expanding startup. In 3 years we’ve grown from one route of deliveries to delivering in Washington, DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Baltimore, Frederick, Philadelphia, South Florida, and soon Raleigh, NC. We’ve recovered over 4,000,000 lbs of food from going uneaten and donated/sold 600,000 lbs of produce to underserved communities.

We are seeking a Sales Associate to facilitate better customer service and partnership flow through organization and administrative support. 50% of the Associate's time will be spent performing support tasks related to account management, including but not limited to: automating data entry, invoicing, and contracts management, in person and on the phone client touch points. 20% of time will be dedicated to sales prospecting, 20% to travel/attending events, meetings, tabling, field support nationally and 10% to special projects.

  • Supports the organization and execution of ProduceRX accounts

We’re seeking a Director of Operations to manage, optimize, and innovate on all the activities from when product arrives to our various co-packers till the moment boxes are loaded to be delivered to customers. This applies not only to our HQ but also the 33 other cities we will be expanding to within the next 5 years.

Controller

Hungry Harvest is a produce delivery service on a mission to fight food waste and hunger. We work with suppliers to procure surplus produce and distribute to our customers via weekly subscription boxes, on average 20% less than grocery.

The Controller will be a financial decision maker in Hungry Harvest. This position will report directly to the CEO, and will participate in strategic decisions surrounding the company’s operations and growth. The Controller will have hands on accounting & reporting systems, financial management, strategic decision making, industry analysis, and budgeting & forecasting. We’re seeking a financial leader who can help us achieve our vision of expansion across the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial planning and analysis to provide strategic decision support to company leadership and departments
  • Budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and analysis

  • Performance measurement against financial and metric-driven goals

  • Creation and management of financial reporting systems

Marketing Copywriter

Reporting to the Creative Manager, the Marketing Copywriter is responsible for supporting the creative process and storytelling across all markets and channels. You will craft compelling short and long form copy that generates excitement, brand awareness and in turn, demand. The Marketing Copywriter will be a key steward of the brand voice in the drive for consistency across all marketing efforts and a source of brainstorming power during big idea generation. You will be the wordsmith of the Hungry Harvest Brand.

The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for developing clear, concise and compelling copy that communicates our impact in reducing food waste and filling food access gaps through delivery of curated boxes of rescued produce. We are looking for someone with exceptional writing skills and a desire to leverage their talent to make a positive impact on the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Creative Manager, shape the way we speak internally with our team and externally with our Harvest Heroes as we hone our brand voice both on and offline
  • Maintain a consistent voice and tone that captures the brand/vertical essence throughout all marketing copy in channels that include, but are not limited to: email, website, collateral, social, blog, marketing collateral, press releases, sales materials, direct mail, product descriptions, internal communications, ambassador materials, and other traditional and non-traditional marketing communications
  • Develop creative, strategic marketing copy for social and search engine marketing (SEM) as well as conversion rate optimization (CRO)
  • Provide input on content marketing initiatives that will increase website traffic, increase lead generation and improve our brand awareness through marketing campaigns
  • Leverage knowledge of the competitive landscape, best practices, and new trends to boost the campaign effectiveness in both an ecommerce and subscription-based retail models
  • Create and manage a process flow for copy creation across many different channels, media and teams
  • Support and edit a network of freelance blog contributors
  • Manage the copywriting process from initial concepts through production and implementation with a focus on A/B testing and optimization for achieving business goals

Qualifications:

Produce Packers - Part Time/Full Time

Job Description
On our assembly line, we pack fresh fruits and vegetables into variety boxes. The sorting, grading and packing of produce does require a lot of handwork and some lifting.

Responsibilities
Efficiently sort and pack product following established packing procedures.
Meet customer required quality standards for finished product.
Adhere to all work safety and food safety policies, standards and procedures.

Rotating Work Schedule & Pay
Wednesday - Sunday, Part Time: 20-30hrs per week , Full Time: 40 hrs per week
Hourly pay rate is $10 per hour.

Required Skills
Must be able to work comfortably in a cool environment
Must be able to work while standing.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs repetitively.
Must be able to work collaboratively.
Must be reliable and have acceptable attendance.

Forklift Operator

Job Requirements
• Picking raw materials for the next day’s production
• Rotating stock (First-in, First-out) in the coolers
• Keeping pallets organized, and re-stacking cases as necessary for safety & logistics
• Conform to all safety protocols when driving and operating warehouse equipment
• Keep forklift in good condition by following manufacturer’s maintenance schedule
• Use care when manually lifting heavy items
• Report to Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager for special assignments for the day
• Notify management of any issues with incoming materials while unloading trailers
• Keep warehouse neat and clean, including sweeping and organizing inventory to maximize space
• Follow all company GMP guidelines (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Packing customer orders on the production line as needed
• Perform other duties in the production area as requested by management

Education/Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years forklift experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work independently and assist in other departments
